Meghan

Patient Coordinator

Hi, I’m Meghan. I’m the Patient Coordinator at Sherwood Dental, and my role involves looking after patients throughout their treatment, whether it’s a simple filling or a complex full mouth surgery and reconstruction. I’ve been working in the dental industry for 22 years (since the age of 18), and I was a dental assistant for many years to start with. I’m so blessed to love what I do, and I’m passionate about helping others; especially those who are really anxious or just hate the dentist. As an anxious patient myself, I believe everyone can and should have positive dental experiences.

I was born in South Africa originally, and came to Australia at age 10. I now live in Logan, and outside of work I enjoy my down-time, include reading and craft – my current obsessions include gem art, paint-by-numbers and macrame.

Vanessa

Patient Coordinator

Hi I’m Vanessa! I am the Patient Coordinator here at Sherwood Dental. I am passionate about supporting patients through their treatment experience with empathy and care. I have been working in the dental industry since I was 18 and now, at 31, have experience across many areas of healthcare, from chairside assisting and reception to being a patient myself. These experiences have given me a genuine understanding and appreciation for every stage of the patient journey. I am passionate about helping people regain their confidence and improve their quality of life through dentistry, while also educating patients on the importance of oral health. Outside of work, I enjoy spending weekends cheering on my son at soccer, relaxing at the beach, or at the gym.

Alana

Receptionist

Hi, I’m Alana! I’m one of the receptionists at the practice, and I love being part of the front office team! Every day brings something new, and it’s a great place to grow my organisational skills whilst meeting wonderful people. I’ve been enjoying expanding my dental knowledge and taking on fresh challenges. In my spare time, you’ll almost always find me crafting or re-watching the same handful of movies.

Nick

Dental Assistant

Hello, I’m Nick! I have been a local all my life and have been working at Sherwood Dental for just under two years. I thoroughly enjoy the Dental Assistant position due to the variety of tasks and the hands-on nature of solving dental complications. I am passionate about battling the negative stigma associated with dentistry and reinforcing positive patient experiences. Outside of work you will find me either playing beach volleyball, delving into a new book or convincing my friends to commit to a multiple hour long board game.

Giselle

Dental Assistant

Hi, I’m Giselle! I have been living in Brisbane and working at Sherwood Dental as a dental assistant for over two years, now. I love the boundless array of knowledge and the level of perfectionism that comes with working alongside dentists and especially enjoy seeing patients overcome dental anxiety. Before this, I lived on my family’s farm in North Queensland and in my spare time, I enjoy music, finding mountains to hike and being active, hence why I love this job!

Lola

Dental Assistant

Hello, my name is Lola and I’m a Dental Assistant at Sherwood Dental. I started my journey in the dental industry early 2024 and instantly loved everything about the role. I specifically enjoy ensuring patients feel comfortable and relaxed during their visit and having the opportunity to ease any anxieties as much as possible. There’s constant room for growth and learning which altogether is a perfect role for me. In my spare time I love going to the gym, listening to music and going on road trips with friends and family.

Brie

Receptionist

Hi, I’m Brie, and I’m a receptionist at the practice! I enjoy being a part of the front office team as it grows my organisational skills and challenges me. I’m currently studying a dual Bachelor of Mathematics and Bachelor of Business Management, as I am a keen problem-solver and because I enjoy applying researched business concepts to my workplace experiences.

In my free time, you’ll find me playing the flute or solving sudoku puzzles. I’m proud to work alongside a great front office team to provide our patients with positive experiences from the get-go!
